Join the ACO for its annual Paint to Music concert at Bates Recital Hall on Saturday, May 20.
Students from 8 area schools created artwork while listening to Respighi’s Pines of Rome. Over 300 digital copies submitted to the ACO were arranged into a slide show with a recording of the ACO performing Pines of Rome in the background. There will be a public showing of the slide show in room 2.610 of the Butler School of Music beginning at 6:45 pm. All are invited to see the show.
Afterwards, join the Austin Civic Orchestra at Bates Hall – just across the hall – for its final formal concert of the 22-23 season. Music Director Dr. Lois Ferrari has chosen the powerful Symphony No. 5 by Dimitri Shostakovich for her final performance as music director of the ACO, a position she has held since 2002.
Please note: Tickets are just $15 for adults and are free for youth in high school and below. Seniors (62 years and older), teachers, veterans and active duty military, and college students can purchase tickets for just $10.
