Paint to Music Contest 2017

WHO: Pre-K through 12th grade students (Austin and surrounding areas)

WHAT: We invite you to create a work of art in the classroom setting while listening to thematic selections of music chosen by the ACO Paint to Music Committee (Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony, all movements.)

WHEN: Deadline for student art submission and returned permission slip to your teacher/sponsor is March 30 (suggested). The absolute deadline for teacher submission of the group’s winning artwork/permission slips is April 22!

CELEBRATE WITH US! Selected winning art will be displayed/presented in an art show 6:00-7:30 p.m. (art show is open and free to the public) in the lobby of Bates Recital Hall at the University of Texas Music Building, Saturday, May 13. This art show is in conjunction with a 7:30 p.m. performance celebrating the Austin Civic Orchestra’s 40th Season! WHY: The purpose of this Paint to Music Contest is to encourage our youth to explore the language of music and the role that classical music can play in enhancing creative expression through art! Celebrate this artistic experience with the Austin Civic Orchestra!
