DESCRIPTION:Purchase Tickets \nThe ACO will open the 2022-23 season with a chamber music concert in the Rollins Studio Theatre located in the Long Center for the Performing Arts. This intimate venue is perfect for showcasing the different sections of the orchestra: strings\, brass\, percussion\, and woodwinds. The program includes music by Alfieri\, Barber\, Berlioz\, Dvořák\, Grainger\, and Mozart. \nHeld on Saturday\, October 1\, come at 7:05 p.m. to listen to Assistant Conductor\, W.P. Sterneman’s preconcert talk.  The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Theatre. \nProgram: \n\nPercy Grainger/T. Higgins: Lincolnshire Posy for Brass Ensemble and Percussion\nJohn Alfieri: Fanfare for Tambourines\nHector Berlioz/H. Kamioka: Trio for Two Flutes and Harp from L’Enfance du Christ\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAntonín Dvořák: Serenade in Dm\, Op. 44 for winds\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSamuel Barber: Adagio for Strings\, Op. 11\nW.A. Mozart: Eine Kleine Nachtmusik\, K 525\n\nThe ACO continues to embrace the classics as well as explore the future. In order for classical music to truly realize its potential as a relevant and important art form it must embrace its future as much as its past.
