The Austin Civic Orchestra concludes its 2026–27 indoor season theme, Journeys of Wonder and Beauty, with the final Music Director finalist concert. We are delighted to welcome Jarred Kennedy to the podium for a program that explores transformation, emotional depth, and the vibrant musical spirit at the heart of the ACO.
Life of Wonders and Fates opens with Katahj Copley’s Equinox, a vivid and rhythmically charged work that captures the energy of change and renewal. Trumpeter Kyle Koronka then takes center stage in Alexander Arutiunian’s Trumpet Concerto, a brilliant showcase of bold fanfares, lyrical warmth, and virtuosic flair. The evening culminates in Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, a sweeping and emotional journey shaped by its iconic “fate” motif. Together, these works create an unforgettable exploration of wonder, destiny, and expressive orchestral power.
