#GIVINGTUESDAY2022

For the past 46 years, the Austin Civic Orchestra has been doing our part to make classical music experiences accessible for all in Austin and surrounding areas. A large part of our mission is to inspire the next generation of musicians through our educational programs and free concerts to all youth. In recent years, we have expanded our education programs to include
school teachers to attend the Paint to Music concert free of charge.
  • The Paint to Music program where over 150 local elementary students create artwork while listening to a piece of music.
  • An in-residence chamber music experience for students to prepare with a professional coach over a span of 4-weeks and perform at our February 23, 2023 concert.
  • Link Up – The Orchestra Sings!  — a program of  Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute which pairs orchestras with students in grades 3–5  to explore orchestral repertoire and fundamental musical skills in schools, through a hands-on music curriculum and resulting in a collaborative concert with the ACO.
  • Volunteering as the performing orchestra for AISD’s Music Memory event.

On this #GivingTuesday, please support the Austin Civic Orchestra’s educational programs. This year, our goal is to raise $2,500.

Funds received will help:

  • Underwrite the costs to provide free youth tickets to all of our concerts
  • Contribute to the costs for the judges and professional coach for the chamber music program
  • Bus transportation for elementary students to the  Link Up concert
  • Underwrite the costs for families and participating
