This concert will feature music that stirs the imagination alongside artwork created by local students while listening to one of the pieces. The ACO will present music by Bernstein, De Falla, Respighi, and Tower.  While the orchestra plays The Pines of Rome, a slide show of artwork created by area elementary students will be shown.

Full program:

  • BERNSTEIN: Overture to Candide
  • TOWER: Made in America
  • DE FALLA: Spanish Dance No.
  • REPIGHI: The Pines of Rome

The ACO continues to embrace the classics as well as explore the future. In order for classical music to truly realize its potential as a relevant and important art form it must embrace its future as much as its past. With this in mind, the ACO will maintain its commitment to experiment with programming that presents beloved classics alongside new and/or eclectic works, some of which might be considered off-beat, cross-genre, or even radical.
